Our Culture

Who we are and what we stand for

Airwave helps keep Britain safe. We provide the dedicated digital network that keeps emergency and public safety teams in touch with each other. Even in the most difficult conditions. 24 hours a day, every day, Airwave’s digital voice service is trusted by Police, Fire and Ambulance teams, as well as other public safety agencies.

Each person who works at Airwave plays a vital part in maintaining the success of the company and ensuring that we provide the best possible service to our customers. We aim to present our communications in a clear and consistent fashion and want our people to behave in a professional manner which puts customers first.

Our vision

We provide a vital service and to ensure that this is supplied to the highest standard, we believe it is important for all employees to commit to the same company vision;

“To be trusted as long-term partners, providing solutions that contribute to a safer world”

Our values

To achieve and maintain our vision our work is shaped by our 3 values;

Clarity

We are straightforward and direct. We make ourselves easily understood and avoid ambiguity in our relationships internally and externally. We keep things simple but without losing integrity.

Commitment

We go the ‘extra mile’ to meet the needs of our customers, shareholders and our people. We are unafraid to challenge convention where we believe better alternatives to be possible. We take on big challenges demonstrating an enthusiasm to succeed.

Collaboration

We are always listening to our customers, our people, and to others and shape our actions and behaviours around their needs and views. We work together as teams and are always willing to accommodate the help and opinions of colleagues.

Communication at Airwave

We recognise that it is vital for all employees to be kept informed of company news, progression and targets to ensure that we are all working together to reach our vision. Communication is a priority at Airwave Solutions and we make sure that this is achieved in the business through a variety of ways. Some examples of these methods are;

  • Airwave magazine – a quarterly magazine distributed to all employees, which details events and news from Airwave and our customers, updates on our programmes and interesting feature stories.
  • Monthly company conference call – a conference call extended to the entire company. Richard Bobbett, CEO of Airwave, gives an overview of progression and invites guest speakers to talk about current affairs. Questions are invited from any employees.
  • View – an off-site annual employee event which offers the opportunity to reflect on the events of the previous year and look forward to the challenges of the year ahead. This is a chance for all employees to celebrate their achievements, catch up with colleagues and enjoy themselves!

Star Awards – Employee Recognition

At Airwave we know that our people are at the heart of our success. The Star Awards are our annual awards that celebrate and recognise the stars of Airwave, those unique people who make a difference every day to their colleagues and customers. Our people who care deeply about our customers and make Airwave a great place to work.

Launched in 2006, the awards give employees the chance to nominate an individual or team who truly embody our values. Those who really make a difference no matter what role they play, what level of the organisation they are or where they work.
